Why Farm?
To most folks who know us, the decision to ditch the suburbs and move to an extremely rural setting probably seemed quite bizarre.  Middle class, nearly middle age, middle of the road normals - playing computer games, writing software, holding down middle management jobs.

However, everything in the "normal" world seemed fake.  Margarine is a molecule away from plastic; the meat at the supermarket is injected with crap that makes it stay red; even the milk is pasteurized, homogenized and man-handled beyond all recognition.

Then one day we bought a gallon of raw milk from some wonderful folks in Potosi.  It was amazing.  Delicious, creamy, healthy... and we met and petted the cow!   That sparked our interest in learning about real food.. healthy, non-messed-with food.

Added to that is a sense of self-sufficiency, independence and pride that we're getting from growing, raising and processing our own.  Taking food from nothing to the table is a great confidence builder - and health builder!

Plus, we can have an ark's worth of four footed friends and no one looks at us funny!
